The Titanic Connection
The Titanic, one of the most famous ships in the world was registered in Liverpool and at the Pier Head there is a memorial to the engine room heroes lost at sea.
The Floating Palaces gallery at the Maritime Museum will re-open in 2007.
The new gallery will explore the story of the sinking of the Empress of Ireland as well as the Titanic and Lusitania disasters, highlighting new research and Liverpool connections. There will also be a display of the Titanic ship model.
