We're looking for the best bands to play live at this year's Hub festival. 

From indie to funk, rock to soul, hip-hop to metal: we want to hear from acts covering every genre of music.

Successful bands will earn themselves a slot at the festival, joining confirmed headliner Shlomo, one of the world's finest human beatboxers.

A panel of local music industry professionals will judge all applications and choose their favourites to play at the event. 

They'll be looking for acts with heaps of energy, style and passion. 

Applications to play in this year's HUB is now closed, applicants will be notified of the outcome by 15 April 2008. 

We would like to say a big Thank you to everyone who applied, this year we recieved a record 140 applications.

Bands will be scored against the criteria below

• Vocal ability
• Tightness of Group
• Originality
• Quality of presentation, lyrics and content
• 'WOW' factor.

Important info

If you're successful, we'll confirm this in writing. 

We'll issue the band performers with event passes but unfortunately family and friends will not be allowed backstage.

Due to limited parking, we're giving a maximum of one car park pass per band. Please use public transport where possible.

Standard backline will be provided due to quick change-overs between bands. Bands will not be allowed to perform using their own backline.
