Cultural Capsules - Liverpool Biennial
Liverpool Biennial is best known as the promoter and organiser of the UK's largest international festival of contemporary art.
It also commissions art for the public realm, such as Richard Wilson's Turning the Place Over and Antony Gormley's Another Place and is delivering the city's largest ever programme of outdoor public art for Liverpool 08.
The mission through all Liverpool Biennial activities is 'engaging art, people and place'. Liverpool Biennial's Learning and Inclusion programme aims to achieve this by providing opportunities for local communities to develop their own creativity and to access the creativity of others.
Cultural Capsule - Liverpool Biennial's Orrery Chest explores story telling through the handling of an artefact. Participants select one of the beautiful coloured periscopes, and using group work and questioning techniques they develop their own unique narrative. Enjoy this contribution to The Orrery, and remember that in September, Biennial artworks will be springing up all around the city.
