Cultural Capsules - Merseyside Dance Initiative

Established in 1993, Merseyside Dance Initiative (MDI) is an agency working to develop dance throughout Merseyside.

As an active member of Dance Northwest, MDI works in partnership with artists, promoters, other agencies and organisations to provide opportunities to participate in, create and experience all kinds of dance. 

Its aims are to develop dance across Merseyside through participation, promotion and production, working to put Liverpool on the map as a creative base for dance. It looks to opening up dance to the diverse communities of Merseyside and developing the profile of Merseyside-based artists on a local, regional, national and international level.

Cultural Capsule - Barging in!
Take a journey with us down the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, delving into its history and exploring how it is used today. We will do this through creating movement that reflects the canal and the many things that happened on it. Barge in and enjoy!!!
