Cultural Capsule - Unity Theatre

Unity theatre holds a unique place in the cultural make up of the city, providing an eclectic mix of drama, dance, comedy, music and art, with a reputation for staging innovative, high quality work in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The theatre has an excellent track record in encouraging new writing and supporting new companies.

Unity is a family friendly venue and our programme features a host of shows for children and young people and their families.

It is the most accessible venue in the city and has been in it's current home, the former synagogue in Hope Place, for 26 years.

Cultural Capsule - Shadow Puppets
Unity's box is all about shadow puppets. Inside you will find kits for children to create their own characters, stories, puppets and instructions on how to convert this box into a shadow puppet theatre.

The lesson will stimulate children's creativity and imagination by providing visual, tactile and sensory experiences through an innovative, entertaining and fun activity for KS2 pupils and their teachers.
